ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Friday granted bail to former MNA Amjad Khan Niazi, and 63 other party workers in a case pertaining to violence outside the Federal Judicial Complex on March 18 during court hearing of PTI chairman Imran Khan, ARY News reported.

ATC judge Raja Jawad Abbasi granted bail to PTI leaders and instructed them to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000.

The Judicial Complex of Islamabad turned into a battlefield when former premier appeared before court in Toshakhana case.

The federal police claimed PTI workers had set police vehicles on fire as law enforcers clashed with party workers during former premier Imran Khan s appearance.

The Islamabad Capital Police Wednesday said they have arrested 316 suspects in various operations to round up Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers suspected to have been involved in vandalism outside the Federal Judicial Complex (FJC) on March 18.

‘JIT to probe Judicial Complex attack’

The federal government Thursday constituted a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attack on judicial complex in Islamabad during the appearance of party chairman Imran Khan on March 18, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that Additional Inspector-General (AIF) Punjab Special Branch Zulfiqar Hamid will head the JIT, constituted to probe PTI attack on courts and law enforcement agencies deployed at judicial complex when former premier Imran Khan was due to appear.

“The constituted JIT will conduct a transparent investigation against the criminals,” Rana Sanaullah had said, adding that it will submit a challan to court within 14 days.
