MQM-P informs Centre, PBS regarding reservations over census
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has informed the federal government and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) regarding its reservations on the census, ARY News reported on Sunday.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Rabita Committee held an emergency session at Bahadurabad headquarters under the chair of the convenor Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui today.
The Rabita Committee held discussions on the political situation, LG by-polls and census.
The political expressed reservations about census once again. The MQM-P leaders said that census staffers failed to reach several areas, whereas, several families residing in the same building were counted as a unit in some areas.
They said that census is a red line for MQM-P and they will force the government to rectify the census process.

Sources told ARY News that the political party also apprised Centre and the chief census commissioner regarding its reservations.
The majority of Rabita Committee members recommended to take part in LG by-polls after the increase of 53 union councils (UCs). The committee said that MQM-P s stance regarding the delimitations was proved true.
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan decided against attending all parties conference (APC), summoned by Pakistan People s Party (PPP) on March 18 to discuss reservations over digital census.
MQM-P did not attend the APC – summoned to discuss reservations over digital census – due to its power show , scheduled for March 18 at Karachi s Bagh-e-Jinnah.
